If the Davie Arena could talk it would tell some tall stories!! From the birth of Five Star Rodeo in \u201c1986\u2033 to the transition into the Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo in \u201c2007\u2033. The Nationwide Fame of our Rodeo\u2019s keeps the world travelers as well as the local community, coming back. We feel we have created the best western entertainment that can be seen, with over 280 sanctioned Rodeo\u2019s during the time frame. We have seen top livestock as well as the top Cowboys and Cowgirls compete for National Championship points. In \u201c2009\u2033 the Seminole Tribe of Florida became the Presenting Sponsor of the Southeastern Circuit Finals Rodeo. In addition a host of National and Local Sponsor\u2019s joined the Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo in ensuring the Southeastern Circuit Finals Rodeo is one of the biggest Rodeo\u2019s in the Nation. The Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo has shown a commitment to excellence by being nominated two times Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, Rodeo of the Year in 2002 and 2004. The Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo was voted the #1 Rodeo in the State of Florida in 2010. In 2019 the Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo was listed as the #5 Rodeo in the Nation and was also chosen #8 Rodeo Nationally in the USA Peoples Choice Awards. In 2020 the Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo was named the BEST Rodeo in North America in the USA Today 2020 Readers Choice Awards. Troy Weekley was born and raised in an area not normally associated with rodeo \u2013 Miami, Florida. He didn\u2019t stay away from the arena long, however. During high school, Weekley competed as a bull rider and tie-down roper. He worked for Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc. after high school but didn\u2019t fully shake the rodeo bug. He started competing in team roping six years after graduation and continued for sixteen years.<\/p>\n

In 1986, Weekley formed Five Star Rodeo, Inc. as a stock contractor and rodeo committee and started producing rodeos. The Davie ProRodeo has held over three hundred performances under Weekley\u2019s direction. He has produced the Southeastern Circuit Finals Rodeo since 2009. Weekley has given back to the rodeo community with service on the PRCA Executive Board, the National Finals Rodeo Committee Board, and the ProRodeo Hall of Fame Board of Trustees. He has also produced youth rodeos for over 30 years and served as president of the Florida Junior Rodeo Association. His dedication to the sport has earned him nominations for PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year and PRCA Rodeo of the Year. He has been honored by the WPRA with the Outstanding Individual of the Year Award in 2017. And USA Today People\u2019s Choice Awards has selected the Weekley Brothers Davie ProRodeo as the #1 Rodeo three times.<\/p>\n

Not only has Weekley served his rodeo community, but he has also served his hometown of Davie. He sat on the Davie\/Cooper City Chamber of Commerce and has received their Humanitarian Award. In 2010, Weekley was inducted into the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame. In 2011, he and his brothers were honored at the Old Davie School Historical Museum for their contributions to rodeo and the Davie area.<\/p>\n

Without a doubt, Troy Weekley is one of Rodeo\u2019s true pioneers.<\/p>\n<\/div>
